Five Points to Remember During Your Interview
You might have read that you should go in an interview with a free mind without a preparation, it is not true. We are not encouraging you for a preplanned attitude but by keeping certain things in your mind, you can increase chances of getting selected. They have been discussed in this article in appropriate hierarchy.
Time Management - Be On Time for Your Job Interview, and make sure not to show up too early as well.
This is the most serious concern which most of the candidates generally do not follow and it can give a negative impression about your personality. So be punctual and report at least before half an hour at venue of the interview. If you reach at appropriate time then you will be calm and confident and will behave in balanced manner while if you are late then may feel nervous at the spot. In case you feel that you can not reach on time then inform the concerned authority so that they can reschedule the timings if possible.
Dressing Style - It might be wise to ask the recruiter about the Dress Code. It also depends upon the kind of job you are interviewing for.
Your appearance is the first thing which gives you a chance to make a stronger impression than other candidates. When you enter in the room then this is the first thing which tells about your personality to interviewer. Neither wear so casual dress nor too much formal is the best way to search about the suitable dress code for your job profile, e.g. if you are going for a job related to management then you can wear a suit but for jobs related to technological background a full sleeve shirt and with a tie will work. One thing is that you should feel comfortable in your dress.
Body Language - Be Courtious.
This is the most significant activity which shows your attitude to the interviewer. First when you enter in the room, give a firm handshake in a pleasant way not in dominant way but only when offered by the other person. Make full eye contact with the person who is asking question and when you sit be careful about your sitting posture e.g. if you have tied your hands then it shows that you are feeling insecure, if you are moving your hands in excess it shows that you are excessive best way is to sit a bit lean forward it shows that you are interested and a god listener. Persons want to talk those who listen them attentively.
Listening Skills - Don't Interrupt Others.
During your college days you should improve your listening power because if your are not listening to interviewer carefully then you may miss some points and can be out from the discussion this will give an impression that you do not know the answer so listen carefully before responding to queries.
Be energetic
In an interview you should show that you are enthusiastic about the job and need it. If you are not attentive then it shows that either you do not need the job or you are incapable for it, convince them why you are the appropriate person for the job.
So be careful about these things before going in an interview, this little exercise can make your currier in the field where you want to go.
