full time Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct research to determine the best search keywords for each brand

· Create unique META data for each web page and ensure that it follows SEO strategies and best practices

· Make changes to website content and META data to improve its ranking on all the major search engines. This includes but is not limited to using Web Master Tools and provided strategies.

· Submit SEO work to development/production team and oversee execution

· Research latest SEO/SEM/SMM best practices

· Promote Websites, RSS feeds and Widgets through appropriate networks

· Oversee Web 2.0 projects on blogs, forums and wikis

· Produce analysis of ROI success of the SEO campaigns using web analytics tools and other resources; this would include analyzing the number of visitors to brand websites and the activity on the site

· Ability to understand and articulate to others SEO and web analytics issues surrounding online user experience, accessibility and information architecture



ROLE REQUIREMENT

· Bachelors Degree a must

· Must have solid experience in analyzing and optimizing web sites; minimum of 1-2 years

· Proven ability to optimize websites, images and videos for algorithmic search; B2B search marketing or media publishing experience a plus

· Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities.

· Previous client-facing research analyst, marketing and/or account management experience a plus

· Previous experience working for an SEO/Digital Marketing company a plus

Demonstrated analytic skills: some understanding of consumer research, online promotion/web analytics; able to measure marketing and promotional effectiveness and track performance using marketing and web analytics tools (e.g., SiteCensus, Omniture, Google Analytics)

Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) complex issues and recommendations to “internal” clients; this would include effectively communicating SEO standards and best practices and technical details in a manner that non-technical people can understand

· Team-player; willingness to roll up sleeves and be an individual contributor on a variety of tasks

· Excellent people skills and willingness to work closely with web editors, designers and web developers

· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining the integrity of each project

· High attention to detail

· Solid ability to perform keyword research for target niche audiences such as the Business of Advertising and Marketing, and the Residential and Design Industry.

· Understanding of niche markets for Client brands (i.e., Entertainment, Music, and Business, etc.) a plus

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (solid Excel skills a must)

· Must be very familiar with:

o HTML

o Web browsers
CSS, XML, RSS, and Java Script a plus
