Project Manager / Trading Industry PMP

Prestigious Professional Services Firm, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Technology Project Manager to run network and infrastructure projects for our clients in the trading industry.
Responsibilities will also include business analysis, project-related research and documentation, proposal development, and other ad-hoc work as needed. Successful candidates will be expected to successfully manage client relationships, retain clients, and think creatively to apply technology to business issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Technology Project Manager will include:
- Performing hands-on, day to day project management of technically-diverse network and infrastructure projects
- Maintaining managerial and technical responsibility for all assigned projects, and having expertise in both areas
- Serving as a primary liaison between client stakeholders, user groups, and the project team developing the solution
- Identifying and analyzing client needs, and defining project scope, requirements, and deliverables
- Coordinating resources, project schedules, and communications for internal and external projects
- Managing project activities and ensuring all project phases are documented appropriately
- Facilitating organizational change while providing expertise on technical, functional and/or business topics during the design, development and /or implementation of projects
- Developing proposals for consulting services
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience, Project Management
Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Experience managing infrastructure teams and projects
- Experience in developing and executing complex workplans for technology projects
- Leadership and teambuilding skills
- Proficiency in resolving conflicts
- Bachelor’s degree
- High attention to detail
- Enjoy working in an intense environment
- Excellent interpersonal and client management skills
- Ability to adapt work habits to a specified methodology
- Sincere desire to learn about the trading and financial industry
Ideal applicants may also have the qualifications listed below.
- Hands-on experience with configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for most of the following:
o Routers (NAT, Multicast, WAN, ISDN, Access lists, etc.) & Switches
o Firewall / Security Technologies (such as a Cisco PIX)
o Microsoft Windows / 2000 Servers (MCSE strongly preferred)
o Microsoft Windows / 2000 / XP Workstations
o Microsoft Exchange Server
o Microsoft SQL Server
o Unix / Linux Servers & Workstations
o Remote Access Technologies
o Citrix (Certification a plus)
o Internet connectivity
- Big 4 experience (or equivalent large, management consulting firm experience)
- Trading industry experience
