We are in search of a SAS Programmer for a well established Biotech company. We are located in the bay area. This is a w-2 consultant postion for a 7 month project. This SAS Programmer will i interact with other members of Biomathematics and/or with the scientist in to clarify and assess requirements and to give advice on methodologies and tools available for data analysis. The SAS Programmer will also a assist in the development of trial protocols, trial analysis and data presentations under the direction of a statistician or pharmacometrician and/or Senior Programmer. Will need to be able to review CRFs/DCSs as well as statistical analysis plans.

Project and/or Study Level

• Leads programming activities within the assigned drug development projects and ensures that all programming is executed in a timely manner and to the required high statistical and reporting standards

• University Education in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or other field (e.g., physics, biology, pharmacology).

• At least 3 to 5 years of hands on programming experience in SAS.

• Good knowledge in the programming of complex data manipulations. Able to create graphics in SAS, S-Plus, or R.

• Strong interest in the life sciences industry

Good knowledge of the drug development process and clinical trial experience.

Basic understanding of database structures.

Experience with handling of biologic data of various kinds (e.g., PK/PD data, genomic data, and microarray data).

Good working knowledge of more than one programming system or language.

Highly effective team worker with strong interpersonal skills.

Systematic and goal oriented working style.

Flexibility and confidence to handle ambiguities, changing demands.

Able to prioritize workload in discussion with other team members.

Thinks broadly, strategically and timely when preventing, solving and managing problems.

Good command of spoken and written English with adequate communication and presentation skills.
