We have an immediate opening for a Programmer/Analyst in the Omaha area with an established, locally owned company.

The candidate must have 2 years AS400 experience as well as Client/Server experience. This person needs to be able to do it all! They will need to be able to lead small projects, program, and assist in the testing process and everything else in between.

Responsibilities:

• Lead small projects.
• Interpret design documents, complete analysis and create designs on simple to moderate projects with considerable supervision.
• Provide programming hours estimation.
• Conduct design walk thru*s on own work.
• Code, test, and debug moderately complex programming projects from detailed specifications independently with limited supervision across one or more platforms (AS/400 and Client/Server).
• Set up unit test plans and assist in system testing.

• Implement programs across one or more platforms (AS/400 and Client/Server).

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Associate*s degree or equivalent.
• Two years work experience.
• Ability to interface with customers, clients and other departments to respond to requests both in written and verbal form.
• Competent in database normalization to fourth normal form.
• General knowledge of SourceSafe or other source control software.
• Experience in inter-application communication via DDE and OLE.
• Familiar with API calls.
• Some exposure to System Analysis, Design, and System Integration.
• Strong knowledge of one the following: Access, Structured Query Language, Microsoft Jet Engine, DB/2, and DB/2 400.
• General knowledge of one or more of the following: RPG 400, ILE RPG, Java, or Visual Basic.
• Some exposure to Object Oriented programming/OLE, C, C ++, or Java.
• General knowledge of Client/Server, Relation DB Design/Optimization.
• General AS/400 Midrange experience.

• Some exposure to Relational DB (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server).
