We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our Hosting team. The Systems Administrator designs and develops web-based and command-line applications for systems administration and monitoring and manages Linux environments. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Unix system programming using Perl, along with experience with C, Java, PHP and SQL.
Duties include:
* System and web development using Perl; * Designing web interfaces; * Configuring, troubleshooting and automating Linux/Solaris systems; * Monitoring and analyzing network behavior, performance and application issues; * Configuring and managing SNMP; and * Managing network-attached storage.The successful candidate should have the following:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related area or equivalent work experience; * 2-5 years experience in a similar role; * Experience with Linux/Solaris system administration; * Solid understanding of database internals and SQL queries; * Ability to design professional and function web interfaces; * Experience with network-attached storage using NFS, iSCSI and NDMP; * Solid understanding of IP networking using standard tools such as tcpdump; * Familiarity with common monitoring tools, such as Nagios and RRDtool; * Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and writing skills; * Strong organization skills and attention to detail; * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; * Ability to interact with customers and troubleshoot in person, over the phone or via email while maintaining a professional demeanor; * Ability to make informal presentations; * Ability to work on call hours when needed; * Ability to work in a fast paced, customer facing environment; and * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Competitive pay and great benefits package available, including:
