Foundation Server Administrator will report to the Manager of Foundation Services Operations and is responsible for the management of the servers that support iLog rules engine, Trillium Profiling Server, IBM Information Server V8.x, and its components: DataStage, QualityStage, Cass Subscription Service, the Metadata Repository, Metadata Workbench, and IBM Business Glossary. Management of the server requires the performance of these tasks: security compliance, user access, connectivity, product licensing, logs management, server monitoring, reporting, backup and recovery. The administrator will need to work with the IT team to perform some or all of these actions on the physical servers.

The administrator will be responsible for insuring that the CASS subscription is loaded and the developers and users are notified when the new files are available. Will be required to patch all components within the Information Server when required and to work cooperative with developers to troubleshoot problems during development and deployment.

The administration of the Metadata server and Business Glossary will fall under the tasks performed by the Foundational Services Administrator. The administrator does a sequence of tasks in order to ensure that the links between information assets are accurately displayed in the data lineage reports, impact analysis reports and results.
Prepares metadata, creates log views, and runs services to identify relationships between data sources and jobs
Maintains the relationships critical to reports that trace enterprise data from target to source and from source to target

The administrator works with the Business Analysts to planning and creating the logical structure of categories, terms, and related IT assets.
Map out the required structure before building the glossary.
Imports existing categories and terms into the repository
Imports existing categories and terms into the repository with Categories and Terms MetaBroker*.
Export terms and categories to files for further use.
Manage users and user groups as stewards
Customize the glossary display
Set application options such as the e-mail address for glossary feedback or the terms that are displayed based on their status.

Additional duties will include scheduling the use of products within the Foundation Services, monitoring the available capacity of the Trillium Profiling server, test, development, and production servers. Troubleshooting problems with the servers within Foundation Services and interfacing with the vendors product support.

Experience creating documentation for processes and procedures desired
