Due to our rapid growth, we have an immediate opening for a Database Administrator to work on location at our Clarksburg, WV office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Design, develop, and administer DB2 database schema *Design logical and physical databases (how the data is stored in terms of physical storage location and amount of space) *Establish physical database parameters. Calculate optimum values for parameters such as amount of computer memory to be used by the database *Coordinate physical changes to computer databases; and code, test, and implement physical database, applying knowledge of the database management system *Code database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to database management system *Test database implementation. Document and correct errors *Select, adapt, and use utility programs to monitor and tune database performances: resource utilization, latency, throughput, and distribution of records *Coordinate with programmers, analysts, and testers who are developing software that uses the database management system *Answer technical questions concerning data models and the database itself from end-user representatives and technical subject matter experts charged with assuring the quality of the database design and implementation *Support the design and conduct of application and database testing activities, assist in the analysis of test results, and modify database design and implementation as required to improve application and database processing performance. *Design and implement scripts to perform the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process that will migrate legacy application data to the new system *Develop scripts, triggers, views, procedures, and other methods to load, extract, or manipulate data in the database
Due to the nature of the project, all candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Five years of experience doing DBA work
• Experience designing and maintaining a large-scale relational databases using DB2 and Oracle
• Specific experience designing and maintaining enterprise databases for DB2

• Strong ETL experience and general experience with DDL (Data Definition Language) and DML (Data Manipulation Language)

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• UNIX and Linux experience as a user

• Database design experience based on requirements and application developer cooperation
