User Interaction Designer
Our direct financial services client in NYC is seeking an interaction designer, who can be responsible for end user analysis (eg., understanding how people use and view websites, and how to make them more user friendly), can do design for the screens, etc.
For this position, functionality is the key. The manager and this department both use the Cooper methodology for interaction design. You need to understand technology, and be able to sit with developers and be able to comprehend what*s being discussed, but the job is not technical in the usual sense.
The firm needs someone who likes collaborative work * you will have a design partner. To do this job well, you need curiosity and empathy, as you will be representing the needs of the user to the software development team. This client likes a candidate with a diverse background and a probing intelligence, someone who can make changes and create better awareness. The core skill is wireframe experience and the client will want to see examples of wireframes you have created.
Other qualifications:
3+ years experience with User Interaction
Experience in the field of user experience or related disciplines
Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong presentation abilities
Solid understanding of technology and product development lifecycle
Experience as a business analyst or technical writer is a plus
Experience with current methodologies is a plus
Experience in financial services industry is a plus.
