POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client in Bend, Oregon studio is seeking a qualified, mid level System Administrator to help with the day to day operations and support for a site with 40+ employees. This position will be under the daily supervision of the local Senior System Administrator with oversight from a remote Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of System Administrator in our Bend, Oregon studio is expected to partner with the organization to:

  • Provided local hands on desk side and server support for a site with 40+ employees.
  • Administer and coordinate technical activities including duty pager.
  • Develop and recommend related technical policies and procedures.
  • Resolve complex technical problems.
  • Perform standard Windows, Linux, and Mac systems administration duties.
  • Provide application, windows pc, and end user support as needed.
  • Perform all other related duties in the areas of IT and Facilities.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of client server operating systems, networking, and client side components. In particular, experience with content versioning systems like Perforce and email administration with Exchange or Notes is highly desired.
  • Ability to analyze, articulate and document user needs and then provide effective solutions to complex technical deficiencies.
  • Experience with Anti-Virus programs or end point protection systems are essential to this position.
  • Advanced administrative experience with Linux and MS systems and the tools that are used to support lights out operations in a 24×7 production environment. Experience with Active Directory is a must.
  • Experience with Legato Networker or other enterprise backup software and infrastructure.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills; particularly in critical situations. Wiki experience is desired.
  • Ability to effectively manage and coordinate issues in time of emergency
  • Ability to support periodic on-call operations

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports daily to the local Sr. Systems Administrator.
