NYC agency is currently seeking a Contracts Manager for a consulting assignment downtown Brooklyn, NY (easily commutable from Manhattan).

Required Skills
8+ year hands-on experience in contract development and negotiation for large-scale, complex IT software and service contracts covering the following areas: Hosting, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software, implementation-consulting services, custom code development, systems integration.
5+ year experience in contract development and negotiation for Government contracts, preferably New York City.
Extensive experience developing acceptance criteria and acceptance process for IT projects and related deliverables.
Experience in the lifecycle of similarly complex systems, i.e., the development, introduction and use of such systems over time.
Experience in quality assurance
Experience in developing and implementing testing environments
Deep knowledge of software development life cycle.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Proven ability to coordinate activities with business, legal and technical teams.
Experience with MS Office Software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Client is looking for an experienced, hands-on IT contract specialist to help complete a large and complex contract with a vendor for their proposed solution of software and services. This is a short-term assignment focused on completing key contract items that remain open and driving acceptance internally between the various teams involved and externally with the vendor. Specifically, the Contract Specialist will be responsible for developing Acceptance Criteria for the project deliverables defined in the Vendors Statement of Work. The key objective is to review the entire contract from an IT services viewpoint and define any missing components required in complete COTS product procurement and implementation services.

The Contract Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Work with client Executives and Managers from business, Legal and Technical teams to develop Acceptance Criteria for project deliverables.
Analyze, interpret, and update existing contract documents (e.g., Statement of Work, Project Plans, License and Services Agreements, Service Level Agreements, etc.) based on Acceptance Criteria.
Assess and account for risks (e.g., contract, project, cost etc.) in the Acceptance Criteria and other contract documents, helping protect the client to the extent possible from the corresponding risks.
Coordinate feedback, discussion and agreement on the Acceptance Criteria and resulting changes to the contract documents between the Vendor and the client stakeholders.



Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Review and evaluate existing contract documentation and develop appropriate follow up to create acceptance criteria and update existing documentation where needed.
Schedule individual and group meetings to discuss requirements and issues, facilitate meeting discussion to capture input and resolve differences.
Coordinate client stakeholder and vendor review of the acceptance criteria to ensure consensus and deliver the finalized documents to the Legal team.
Track progress, issues and risks throughout the process
