Telecommunications Project Manager
at Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization in New York
We need a smart, enthusiastic self starter to join a high profile and challenging team. The selected applicant will work closely with senior project managers, clients, business partners, healthcare organizations and vendors to design and manage the installation and provisioning of a rural telemedicine/telecommunications fiber optic network in Northern NY.
The position will have oversight of projects to develop and implement a telehealth network in a three county region. Responsibilities include but are not limited to 1) the completion of a design study to prepare for RFP and bidding of the project construction and provisioning, 2) the development of relationships with hospital providers, clinics and other healthcare organizations to create a telehealth/telemedicine network , 3) leading and coordinating advisory groups to develop a strategic plan for telehealth in the Fort Drum region, 4) data collection and site assessment to connect fiber optic network with adherence to funding requirements and outcomes as required by funding source including completion of all reports and deliverables, 5) identification and implementation of evaluation plan to measure the successful delivery of services, and 6) outreach for grant and funding development to implement telehealth plan.
REQUIRED: Significant project design and management experience, 4 year degree in business/IS or computer science or related field, demonstrated ability to use project management software (Microsoft Project and Project Server and Microsoft office technologies), experience with rural telecommunications and fiber optic technology, excellent communications, and interpersonal skills. Acceptable background and reference check and valid NYS drivers license for travel with-in the three county service area.
DESIRED: Substantial administrative and managerial experience including financial management of complex regional projects. Extensive knowledge of telehealth applications and rural telecommunications.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: This position is supported by a three year project commitment, position will continue past 3 years dependent on future funding.
