It is not the case of every time that you will be interviewed individually by a person to judge certain qualities and traits of your behavior. According to the organizational structure of company and considering the requirement for job different companies arrange several types of interview and one should know about pattern of each kind of interview and how to behave in each situation. In this article, these patterns have been discussed.
Board Interview
In this type of interview a group of experts is made either from same field or may be from different departments, it will depend on job profile if candidate is supposed to handle various task then there may be a group of consisting members who are specialist in the same skills which they are looking in a candidate. Generally such kind of interview is arranged when company is looking a person for higher level job like senior manager, CEO, CFO and other technical and critical job. In the end of interview each member discusses his/her views with chairperson of panel and decide to select or reject the candidate. Before going for such interview candidate must aware with the required skills for that job and eye contact should be made with each member of the panel ,it does not matter who asks the question, your voice should be frequent and audible to all members.
Sequential Interview
When a company wants to selects substantial number of candidates in limited time especially for middle level category then this is the best method. In this process of interview a candidate has to face 2 or more interviewers and final result is drawn after the comparison of each stage. In this kind of interview, candidate can take advantage by having an idea about working culture of company after having a conversation with first member.
Stress Interview
This type of interview is taken by companies to check the stress level of candidate and how he will or she will behave in a stressful conditions. This kind of interview helps to check the skills which are required in a target job or in project management level where deadlines are also significant. This can be done by asking more than one question at one time or by asking a question before candidate gives the responds to previous one and may be panel member can pick some rude topics just to check your patience. It is possible that you do not come to know this at the beginning of the interview but after one or two question, you can have an idea then do not become aggressive and behave in a natural way.
Situational Interview
In situational interview one situation related to the job profile is given to the candidates and it is said to them that how they will deal in this particular situation. Then further posing the problems panel tries to get your maximum involvement in the role. In such situation candidate must try to get maximum information or data about the problem from panel and then request for your time to analyze the problem. In the end one simple instruction is to be honest, behave in your natural way, go with full confident and you will succeed in any interview.
